Creativity and e-Governance: Designing innovative public e-services

The Creative Entrepreneurship Academy (CEA) is a five-day training session taking place in Tallinn, Estonia. The 2017 edition will focus on the making of places by inclusive public e-services and e-products. CEA offers a dialogue platform for the public sector, business community (IT businesses, start-ups, etc.) and creatives with the aim of considering the factors stimulating innovation in e-governance. For businesses and creatives, CEA provides insight into public-sector expectations and requirements in ordering e-products or e-services. It offers an opportunity to develop ideas into e-products and e-services via professional coaching throughout the academy.

Innovative solutions in governance foster inclusive society planning, entrepreneurship and innovative practices that generate jobs and income, spin off new products and services and attract and retain unrelated businesses and skilled workers into the city, country and region. The direct and indirect outcomes of inclusive place-making through e-governance have the potential to radically change the future of cities, countries and regions. CEA will highlight good practices from the Nordic countries and Estonia and, with experts, focus on the latest trends and developments in e-governance.

CEA is both a theoretical and hands-on experience in e-governance. It provides creative techniques for innovative practices and solutions and involves interactive sessions, practical workshops (a hackathon, a teamlab and pitching sessions) and renowned coaches. Among others, Marco Steinberg (Snowcone, Finland), Andres Kütt (Estonian Information System Authority), Myrsini Glinos (eGovlab, Sweden) will be participating as coaches.

Businesses participating in CEA will learn about and practice pitching at the ‘Latitude 59’ international investors meeting; and get the opportunity to be prepped for and participate in the ‘Creative Business Cup e-Challenge’ international entrepreneurship competition taking place in Tallinn in autumn 2017.

CEA e-Governance Edition 2017 is being organised by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Estonia and the Creativity Lab in partnership with Creative Estonia, the Estonian e-Governance Academy and the Government Task Force for public sector and social innovation.

The Creative Entrepreneurship Academy is a series of high-level international training programmes that was launched by the Creativity Lab. CEA collaborates with the global Creative Business Cup network, bringing together key players from creative industries across the world.
