Prizes for “the best in the Nordic Region”

Tributes were paid to Finnish literature, Icelandic film and environmental initiatives, Norwegian children's prose and Danish music when the Nordic Council awarded its five annual prizes at a ceremony in Stockholm City Hall on October 29, 2014.

  • Literature Prize: Finnish author Kjell Westö for his novel Mirage 38
  • Film Prize: Icelandic director and screenwriter Benedikt Erlingsson and the producer Friðrik Þór Friðriksson for Of Horses and Men
  • Children and Young People's Literature Prize: Haakon Øvreås and Øyvind Torseter (illustrator) from Norway for the book Brown
  • Music Prize: Danish composer Simon Steen-Andersen for Black Box Music
  • Nature and Environment Prize: the City of Reykjavik
