Heatwaves and floods in China and the United States. Extreme precipitation in Pakistan. Drought in Russia and extreme cold in South America. These and other changes affect you as a traveller, business professional or a person who cares when millions of other people (and animals) are left in trouble and without a home because of climate change.

Nordic countries have been heading the fight against climate change in the world for years. The last online webmagazine of 2014, Green Growth the Nordic Way, gives an overview of the climate-related activities of the Nordic Council of Ministers. The Nordic Council of Ministers also helped create a new online solution that shows graphically and clearly how the world's climate will change over the years according to different scenarios.

Five years ago, the Prime Ministers of five Nordic countries initiated an extraordinary Top-level Research Initiative to allow the best natural, social and economic researchers of the Nordic countries to find the best solutions for adapting to climate change and putting a stop to these changes. The goal of the project was to offer solutions that would not just remain within the walls of research establishments and appear in reports, but would also be understandable and visible to entrepreneurs and consumers.

If you want to know how climate change affects everyone, what we can do to cope with the change and what the Nordic Top-level Research Initiative is, watch this short movie, which also offers you beautiful views of Nordic landscapes.

The Nordic Top-level Research Initiative was coordinated by NordForsk, Nordic Energy Research and Nordic Innovation, which are all institutions under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
