The MELT Forum which took place on June 7 in Tallinn Creative Hub (Kultuurikatel), brought together over 500 people interested in topics relating to improving the cooperation between creative persons and businesses.

"The Forum addressed different topics and during five parallel sessions, success stories of cooperation between creative persons and businesses in export, marketing and innovation, product development and sales activities were shared with the audience," Kristel Kukk writes in the economic news portal ärileht.ee.

Miikka Leinonen, a Finnish marketing specialist, attended the forum courtesy of the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Estonia. Kukk writes: "Leinonen spoke of experiences and emotions becoming increasingly important to consumers. He feels that creative industries should focus more on creating intangible values. According to Leinonen, the material world is finite because materials will run out one day and people’s closets get full; the intangible world, on the other hand, is infinite – emotions and experiences are limitless."

MELT Forum was organised by Tallinn Business Incubators in cooperation with Tallinn Entrepreneurship Office, Tallinn Creative Hub, the Estonian Design Centre, Creative Estonia, the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Estonia and Enterprise Estonia.

In addition to bringing Leinonen to the forum, the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Estonia also presented the best examples of the Nordic food culture programme New Nordic Food where the traditional food sector has used creative inputs (designers, artists, etc.) in production and marketing, thus increasing the companies’ profits and making them more international.

We worked with the Culture Hub to arrange for Tiffany J. Ng from Silver.Spoon (Denmark) to speak at the forum. Silver.Spoon is a creative brand strategy company that was founded in 2009. Silver.Spoon has become an international leader in the field of gastronomic experience design. Together with their customers they have created special solutions to execute their short- and long-term strategies. Silver.Spoon also has its own branded experiences such as Guerilla Dining, Wine&Grub and Street Corner Kitchen that have contributed to the development of underground food culture in Copenhagen as well as abroad. Silver.Spoon creates unforgettable food experiences where everything feels unique and innovative.

Arla and Kuudes (Finland/Sweden) a.k.a. the largest dairy manufacturer in Scandinavia gave an overview of how package design has significantly increased their sales figures.
