The Nordic youth exchange programme Nordjobb was introduced to Estonian companies and school and university students in Tallinn and Tartu in the second half of January. This programme has been operating for more than 30 years, offering Nordic young people the opportunity to apply for seasonal jobs in other Nordic countries. The programme is financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers, the League of Norden Associations and the employers and national labour market boards that have joined the programme.

At the initiative of the Embassy of Sweden, Nordjobb is now expanding to Estonia – a pilot project was launched, creating the foundation for cooperation with Estonian companies who could hire young people from Nordic countries. Young people from Estonia who speak Nordic languages are also welcome to apply for jobs in Nordic companies.

“In the IT sector, for example, there are companies that are looking for people who speak Swedish,” said Ambassador of Sweden to Estonia Anders Ljunggren. Companies operating in other sector may also need young people who speak Nordic languages, e.g. spas, shipping companies, hotels, call centres.

Job opportunities in all Nordic countries, including Åland, Faeroe Islands and Greenland, are already open to young people from Estonia, says the Embassy of Sweden. It's possible to apply for jobs in the area of fishery and horticulture in rural regions of Norway and Denmark, hotel jobs and social work in Stockholm, and much more.
