Scientists recommend local biogas stations

Rurik Holmberg, who studies energy systems in the University of Linköping in Sweden, yesterday presented a study on the use of bioenergy in the Nordic countries and the Baltic States. Both Holmberg and the local scientists are of the opinion that Estonia should concentrate on building smaller local bio stations.

On 20 October 2009 the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia presented the study "Use of bioenergy and opportunities for cooperation in the Nordic countries and the Baltic States". An overview of the Nordic environmental and energy policy was given by Halldór Ásgrímsson, the Secretary-General of the Nordic Council of Ministers. Rurik Holmberg, the Professor at University of Linköping in Sweden, discussed in greater detail the research that involves both the Baltic States and the Nordic countries.
