Anders Sjöstedt, chief coordinator at Swedish Experience Industries, introduced the lecture series on creative industries at the Tallinn City Archive on 10th of December 2008.

Sjöstedt talked about how meeting places were created in Sweden to unite different parties and achieve economic success, how creative industries were supported, and what the most successful models in different spheres were.

Soline/Solce

  • Soline is a large agricultural region in Slovenia known for its salt flats. The salt industry is currently unprofitable. However, business operators along with photographers and historians took the decision to remind people of the history of salt. Designers produced new salt products, in which product design played a major part. New shops were opened in city centres and at airports. Today more and more tourists are visiting the Soline region to see the salt flats.
