The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Estonia continued with its creative industries lecture series on 25th of March 2009. This time, festivals were in the spotlight. This time we examined how a major festival is born – the ups and downs of a festival, and means for successful management.
The issue was dissected by Stefan Ahlgren, a tourism expert who coordinates various fields at the renowned Food and Culture Festival in Öland (Sweden). The former regional culinary undertaking has grown into a large, internationally branded festival; it’s somewhat of a popular movement that combines cooking traditions with artistic and cultural events. More to the point, Ahlgren took the audience into the birth of the festival and creating attractive advantages.
