The exhibition gives a brief overview both in pictures and in writing of the economic, cultural and defence relations in the Nordic countries as well as points out the position of the Nordic countries in the world. The texts were written by Jyrki Ijäs; Madis Kanarbik edited and supplemented the texts that were then translated by Mall Tamm and designed by Siiri Tomingas-Joandi.

Photo and poetry exhibition "Atlantic Norway in poetry and picture"

The exhibition was drawn up by photographer Dmitri Kotjuh and poet Igor Kotjuh. It’s an interdisciplinary project that combines texts and pictures. It tries to give a three-dimensional impression of Atlantic Norway. Both photos and poems were created in the second half of 2005 when the authors worked at a fishing factory near Kristiansund on the west coast of Norway. The Kotjuh brothers come from Võru and have both studied Finno-Ugric languages at the University of Tartu. Dmitri Kotjuh’s photos have been published in Estonia, Finland and Russia. He works as a news photographer but prefers art photography: landscapes, portrays, etc. Igor Kotjuh is poet and translator. He has translated Kristiina Ehin’s and fs’s poetry among others, as well as published a book of verse in Russian, titled “When Will Tomorrow Arrive?”. His poems in Estonian have been published in the Looming and Vikerkaar magazines.
NCM Office in Estonia, Intramus, Bookmill, Estonian Literature Union and Nerva Art support the project.
