Description
Smart and educated adults will meet in Sweden at the start of this year's summer for a discussion about how to increase the awareness of children and young people in the consumption of media. The goals of the international summit:
- to highlight teachers and youth workers as the mediators of media and information society to children and young people;
- to support teaching of media and communication of information;
- to introduce new international studies;
- to allow legislators access to the newest studies;
- to introduce the newest information to producers and communicators of quality media;
- to improve the opportunities of children and young people to influence media;
- to bring media, schools, research institutions and legislators, children and young people, together.
140 sessions with leading experts in the world have been planned.
The event's patron, Queen Silvia of Sweden, Minister of Culture of Sweden Lena Adelsohn-Liljeroth and Margot Wallström, who was the vice president of the European Commission from 2004 to 2009, are inviting everyone to the summit in order to create a new global vision of children and media.
