Nordplus

NordplusThe Nordic-Baltic educational programme, Nordplus, covers lifelong learning as well as basic, higher and graduate education. Some 60 million DKK have been allocated to this programme, which was launched in 2008.
The primary tasks of the programme are to strengthen educational cooperation and establish broad opportunities to become educated and supplement knowledge in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
Nordplus supports mobility, projects and network activities. Educational institutions and organisations promoting lifelong learning can apply for funding.
It is a unique project in the field of educational cooperation because all participating countries contribute to the budget according to fixated rate of its GDP.

The Nordplus Framework Programme 2008-2011 consists of four sub-programmes:

  • Nordplus Junior – preschools, primary/secondary schools and upper secondary schools
  • Nordplus Higher Education – higher education institutions
  • Nordplus Adult Learning – all types of actors within the area of adult learning
  • Nordplus Horizontal – a cross-sector programme open for cooperation between many different target groups and actors within the education area

Each sub-programme has its own purposes and priorities. In 2009 Nordplus focuses on climate and environment.

Centre for Educational Programmes Sihtasutus Archimedes – Archimedes Foundation manages the Nordplus programme in Estonia.
