NordjobbWe're pleased to be able to report that interest in obtaining summer work through the Nordjobb programme has been high. Now seasonal jobs for youth are also available in the Nordics for the autumn season.

The general conditions for Nordjobb are the following:

  • Nordjobb accepts applications for summer work in the Nordic countries – Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Iceland (plus the Åland Islands, the Faroe Islands and Greenland) – from all citizens of Member States of the European Union aged between 18 and 28. As such, this includes Estonian citizens.
  • Job-seekers must be able to get by in at least one of the main Scandinavian languages – Swedish, Danish or Norwegian.
  • The exception is those seeking work in Finland, who can instead speak Finnish.
  • In order to look for work, you must register on the Nordjobb website. The website is presented in the Scandinavian languages, since Nordjobb is primarily designed to promote Scandinavian culture and languages to young people through summer work.
  • If you're not sure how you'll know whether you'll get a job, remember that everything depends on the employer and your registration – where you are looking for work, what period you want to work in and what conditions you set. As such, we recommend that you don't look for very specific work – leave lots of doors open. If an employer is interested in you, they will get in touch with you directly. However, if no work can be found for you in the Nordic countries this summer, Nordjobb will inform you of this.

Wherever possible, Nordjobb staff will help you find a place to live and suggest recreational activities. But they cannot guarantee anything. The autumn seasonal work can begin as early as 15 August and as late as 23 December.

If you still have questions about applying to work in the Nordic countries this summer, please contact Nordjobb directly by e-mailing info (at) nordjobb.net.

Best of luck!
