The new millennium did not turn the world upside down, the Earth still circles the Sun in a year and revolves around its axis in a day. However, it is true that smaller changes and variations have occurred everywhere. To Tallinn and the rest of Estonia, the new millennium brought, in addition to everything else, the Nordic Poetry Festival. This year the festival celebrates its fifth anniversary and that's why many cherished poets from the previous years have also been invited. The retrospective background of this year's festival poses a broader question: what traces does poetry leave to the times, places and people in and for whom it is conceived and presented?
