Nordic Council of Ministers’ Offices in Estonia in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of Estonia, the University of Tartu, Tartu Welcome Centre, the City of Tartu and together with the UNHCR Representation for the Nordic and Baltic Countries is arranging an international conference “From emergency reception to integration at local level, best practices in the Nordic and Baltic countries” 27th of May 2022 at the National Museum of Estonia in Tartu.

The conference gives a possibility to share experiences and practices of integration of refugees and immigrants in the Nordic-Baltic Region. The importance of integration issues has become increasingly evident after the start of war in Ukraine, followed by the huge wave of refugees from Ukraine. Representatives of local governments, NGOs and state organisations in the Nordic-Baltic region will present the practical knowledge and basic data on immigration and integration in their home countries and organisations, followed by joint discussions. The conference will be held as a hybrid meeting, enabling physical and on-line participation.
