First annual forum on the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region

On the 14-15 October 2010 in Tallinn, the European Commission will organise the first Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. The Forum will include a presentation and discussion of the first draft implementation report, as well as updates on the various Priority Areas included in the Strategy.

All stakeholders are invited to join this open exchange of views on the status and future of the Strategy. Interventions and comments made during the Forum will contribute to the final drafting of the implementation report and to the future development of the Strategy.

The Forum will be opened by Mr Toomas Hendrik Ilves, President of the Republic of Estonia; Mr Johannes Hahn, Commissioner for Regional Policy, European Commission and Ms Mercedes Bresso, President of the Committee of the Regions. The Nordic Council of Ministers will moderate the discussion on green growth. Christina Gestrin, member of the Nordic Council will partcipate as the representative for the Baltic Parliamentarians att the wrap up panel on October 15.
