LogotypeThe main subjects of this year's ecofair are green economy and green living. They are the same subjects that the Nordic Council of Ministers is currently focussing on. The climate changes caused by human activity are driven many people to despair. However, we all can do something for a more sustainable future. Buying products marked with ecolabels is one way of being a more sensible consumer and protecting the environment.

The Nordic Council of Ministers or Nordic governments decided to start using a common official environmental marking, which would help consumers select the best products. The chosen symbol is a swan against a green background, which is based on the logo of the Nordic Council of Ministers. A recent survey showed that 97% of Swedish consumers recognised the label, while 94% of consumers in Norway recognised it, 82% in Denmark, 88% in Finland and 60% in Iceland. The Swan is clearly the key to the Nordic market.

At the ecofair, the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia will introduce the principles of the swan sign and give advice on how to apply for the marking.

You can read more about the swan label here.

Everyone who is interested in small environmentally friendly solutions in energy production and ecological construction, solar and wind energy equipment, organic food, organic and health products and natural cosmetics should visit the ecofair. Read more about the ecofair here (in Estonian).
