Tallinn Music Week 2011The pop music scene in Estonia may be small, but it's certainly vibrant. Tallinn Music Week brings music producers and managers from all over the world to the Estonian capital with the aim of ensuring that it is not only us who know what we're capable of – and for many singers and bands it can be a springboard into the wider music industry.

Over two packed days and nights in the best bars, live clubs and theatres in the city, the showcase festival brings together local music fans and international professionals and provides them with a wide-ranging overview of Estonian pop music today.

Creative HotspotsCreative Hotspots and Tallinn Music Week will be bringing around 100 big names in the music industry to the city from all over Europe, and in addition to the festival there will be a conference on the present and future of the industry at Nordic Hotel Forum on 25 and 26 March. The conference programme will include a discussion of the conclusions drawn at Creative Hotspots, a separate conference looking at new business models in the creative economy. This theme is well aligned with those of Tallinn Music Week: exporting creativity and the role of business models in the development of the careers of creative people.

The Tallinn Music Week conference programme is heading in three main directions this year: a sustainable and meaningful policy of investment in talent and creativity; the role of the manager and business operator in delivering creativity to the public and consumers; and new ways of distributing creativity in the digital age.

Creative Hotspots is being organised by the British Council in association with the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia and Tallinn Music Week. Taking part will be creative companies from all three Baltic States, the Nordic countries, the United Kingdom and more.
