Nordic Film & TV Fund found extra money for international activities

Nordic Film & TV FundThe Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM) allocated DKK 7 million of extra money to the Nordic Film & TV Fund for the next three years (2010-2012). The goal of the contribution is to support the globalisation strategy of the Fund, which is aimed at making the distribution of Nordic films, documentaries and TV dramas more successful.

On a broader scale, the extra money should increase awareness of the Nordic countries and their culture in the whole world. Support is also given to talents in front and behind the camera through seminars with internationally recognised speakers.

The Nordic Film & TV Fund was founded in 1990 for the propose of promoting the production of quality TV series and films in the five Nordic countries of Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland with the help of grants. Support is also given to distribution of productions outside the Nordic countries, gaining new knowledge, organisation of events, etc.

The Nordic Film & TV Fund is also responsible for the esteemed Film Award of the Nordic Council.
