October 9th at 13.30 young readers will get to meet Swedish writer and creative writing teacher Ida Linde at Kännukuke Library, where she will be introducing her new psychological novel “Mördarens mamma” (A Murderer´s Mother).

October 11th at 13.30 high school students are welcomed to take part in a creative writing workshop led by the writer. The work shop will take place at the Tallinn Central Library in the Department of Literature in Foreign Languages.

Ida Linde was born in 1980 and grew up in Umeå. She now lives in Stockholm where she is a Creative Writing teacher at Biskop-Arnös Writers School. Linde will be visiting Estonia on October 9th to 11th as part of the `Nordic Writers Crossing Borders` programme.

Linde debuted in 2006 with the poetry collection “Maskinflickans testament” (The Machine girl's will) that revolves around personal loss. Her second collection of poems “Räkneboken” (Counting book), is as much a collection of aphorisms that it is a veritable textbook. Linde has written a variety of critically acclaimed novels, among them “En kärleksförklaring” (A declaration of love) and “Norrut åker man för att dö” (You go north in order to die).

On October 10th young readers and writers in Haapsalu will also have the chance to meet Ida Linde and listen to her ideas notes  on literature, letters and loneliness. She will also be reading an excerpt from her first book which has been translated into English, “Maskinflickans testamente” (`The Machine Girls Will`) and answering questions.

Ida Linde´s visit is a part of the project "Kirjandus on PÕHI-line", that has come to be thanks to Cultural Endowment of Estonia, Tallinn Central Library and The Nordic Ministers´ Office in Tallinn. The event is supported by "The Nordic Writers Crossing Borders" programme, which is financed by CBSS and Nordplus.
