The public programme for the "Weather Diaries" exhibition started on November 5th.  The opening event of the public programme was a meeting with Guðrun Rógvadóttir, one of the founders of the Faroese clothing brand Guðrun & Guðrun

 On November 5th, Guðrun Rógvadóttir, one of the founders of the Faroese clothing brand Guðrun & Guðrun, gave a public lecture at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, introducing the versatile and sustainable brand and presenting the challenges and solutions of manual production. Guðrun Rógvadóttir's lecture was preceded by a half-hour English-language tour led by Ginta Tropa - Coordinator of the Baltic Tour of the "The Daily Diaries" exhibition from the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Latvia.

In addition to the visit of design duo Guðrun & Guðrun, there will be several meetings during the period of the exhibition:

  • November 9th at 12.00 Russian-language excursion at the exhibition with fashion designer Kalle HT Aasamäe.
  • November 27th - Meeting with Jessie Kleemann, a Greenland poetess and artist.
  • November 30th, at 12:00 Estonian-language excursion at the exhibition with fashion designer Kalle HT Aasamäe.
  • On January 5th, 2020 at 3:00 pm, an excursion with the exhibition coordinator, Ketli Tiitsar.

The public programme is organised by the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design together with the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Estonia in co-operation with TheNordics and the Estonian Academy of Art.

The audience program is open to all interested, entrance with a museum ticket.

The exhibition “The Weather Diaries” will be on view from September 29 until January 5, 2020, at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design (Lai 17, Tallinn). The exhibition will showcase fashion artworks designed by artists from Iceland, Greenland and Faroe Islands, who have been inspired by the unique Nordic landscapes and harsh weather conditions.
