Swedish culture comes to Tartu

Next week brings Swedish and Baltic 17th and 18th century music to Tartu. The event consists of a concert and a seminar.

- Music concert, Wednesday 11th May at 19:30:

”Music and poetry around the Baltic Sea 1632 – 1809”.

Heino Elleri Muusikakool, Lossi 15 Tartu, the Eller room.

Two of the leading baroque musicians in Sweden, Bernt Malmros (viola da braccio, piano) and Johan Christensson (tenor) will perform the following program:

The concert is organized by Einar Petander, visiting PhD student at the Department of Scandinavian studies, as a part of a project financed by Sweden-Estonia Cooperation Fund and as a part of the 30th anniversary of the Department of Scandinavian Studies.

- Seminar in music history about reconstruction and performance of early music. Thursday 12th May at 10:15:

 ”Att återfinna, återuppliva och levandegöra äldre tiders musik. Forskning och musikalisk praktik i förening”.

The seminar will be in Swedish language and is led by the music historian Bernt Malmros.
