Icelandic writer Kristín Ragna Gunnarsdóttir will introduce us to the mysterious world of Icelandic myths and heroes

Well-known Icelandic writer and illustrator Kristín Ragna Gunnarsdóttir will visit Estonia on September 20 to 25th. Lovers of Nordic literature will have a great opportunity to meet the author on September 23rd at the Estonian Children's Literature Centre. On September 25th we invite all families to a take part of a family morning which is inpired by Gunnarsdóttir´s works. 

Kristín Ragna Gunnarsdóttir (born 1968) holds a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature and a master’s degree in creative writing. She has written 10 books for children, created exhibitions for them as well as illustrated countless books. She has received the Icelandic Illustrators Award for illustrations in Nordic mythology books, and has also been nominated for many literary awards.

Kristín Ragna Gunnarsdóttir is also the curator of the exhibition “The Book Flood”. The exhibition presents Nordic and Baltic literature to children and develops children’s reading habits through innovative means. Beloved characters help discover the joy of reading through interactive and creative tasks.

During the meeting Kristin will talk about the mysterious world of Icelandic myths and heroes, and how to make such ancient material exciting also for today's children.
