Nordic Literature Week “Nordic Fellowship” 10-16.11
We are pleased to invite you to take part in the Nordic Literature Week, taking place from November 10–16, 2025!
This year’s theme is “Nordic Fellowship,” and the selected reading texts are by Faroese author Bárður Oskarsson and Norwegian author Jon Fosse.
Libraries, schools, day-care centers and cultural organizations are all welcome to participate.
Nordic Literature Week is a reading event. Excerpts from the selected books of the year are read aloud simultaneously across the Nordic and Baltic countries, as well as in Nordic institutions around the world. The week takes place in mid-November. The Monday of the chosen week is the main reading day, when schools, libraries, and other cultural institutions organize morning readings for children and young people, and evening readings for adults.
The project is coordinated by the Federation of Nordic Associations and a non-profit organization for Nordic cooperation, and it is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
Each year, a new theme is chosen. Based on the theme, one book is selected for children, one for young people, and one for adults. The theme and books are chosen by the Nordic Literature Week Committee, which includes one representative from each Nordic country. The goal of Nordic Literature Week is to promote Nordic literature, inspire people to read and find joy in reading, and to foster tolerance and cooperation across different fields.
