Cybercation – Nordic-Baltic Educators’ Forum 2022

Monday, 29 August 2022

Cybercation is a side event of the Cyber Battle of Nordic-Baltics and it brings together teachers and educational organizations, whose mission is to support ICT studies in the Nordic-Baltic region.

Its goal is to provide a wider forum and growing stage for cyber education, enable international networking for both students and educational institutions and develop long-lasting partnerships.

Why?

Cyber security is quickly growing to be a critical aspect in modern societies. We rely on it to have fresh drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, safe traffic, operational education and government, growing businesses and functional financial system.

Yet companies, governments and communities lack talented people, as cyber security is a complex field with a high barrier for entry. Cybercrime on the other hand has become a global phenomenon where criminals can conduct attacks on targets across borders with unprecedented impact.

There is a need to reach out to young people, girls and boys, who may not have an interest in cyber. And the best way doing it is through gamified training and of course the education system – teachers, professors, school directors, policy makers.

The first Cybercation – Nordic-Baltic Educators’ Forum took place on October 29, 2022 in Tartu, Estonia.

The forum was organised by the Nordic Council of Ministers' office in Estonia and CTF Tech. Watch the recording of the forum here:
