The Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia, the embassies of Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark in Estonia and the embassy of Iceland in Helsinki decided to organise their first joint midsummer party in the country in mid-June. Take a look at the pictures from the party in our gallery.

The party was held at the Estonian Open Air Museum. The several hundred party-goers enjoyed Nordic snacks, warmed themselves around the bonfire, relaxed to the music of Nordic Sounds and were entertained by the Ukulele Orchestra and folk dancers in traditional outfits from the island of Muhu.

Thanks to everyone for coming along and spending a memorable Nordic evening with us! Perhaps you'll find yourself in one of our photos ;) They were taken by Jana Laigo from Barefoot Studio.

Following the party, a story was published in Postimees online of journalist Marti Aavik's conversation with the ambassadors of Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark to Estonia and Christer Haglund, director of the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia. Aavik asked the ambassadors what makes the Nordic countries so special and what preconceptions they have of one another, being such close but diverse neighbours. A humorous video in English was made of the latter, which can be found on the Postimees website.
