The Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia opened a branch in Narva on 16 February 2016 so as to promote the Nordic countries and Nordic cooperation in Ida-Viru County, organise cultural events and play a greater role in topical debates of importance to the city and region. Located at the same address as the television studio of ETV+, the Russian-language channel of the Estonian Public Broadcasting, the office is headed up by local programme coordinator Jevgeni Timoštšuk.
