The 65th Nordic Council's Session or the summit meeting of the Nordic countries will focus on discussing the future of Nordic co-operation. Also, the Nordic Council of Ministers, representing co-operation on the government level, will submit to the Nordic Council, the inter-parliamentary body, new guidelines for co-operation with the Baltic countries and North-West Russia.

This year for the first time in the history of the summit meetings, the winners of Nordic Council's prizes will be announced no sooner than at the prize gala to be broadcast live by the NRK, or the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation.

As the tradition goes, the awards will be given in the following categories: literature, music, film, and nature and the environment. This year, a new category is added to the prize list: children and young people's literature.
In the light of these innovations, the Nordic Council held a design competition for the prize statuette.

The Nordic Council is expecting journalists from all over the world to cover the summit meeting and prize gala.
