The future and the past are distinguished by the fact that we can influence the future, but the past is history.

This year the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Estonia is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Nordic Day, March 23rd at Culture Hub / Kultuurikatel in Tallinn (Põhja pst 27a).

As we reflect on our common past achievements, we should also keep the future firmly in focus. That is why we have decided to honour our anniversary with a look into tomorrow:

  • Under what circumstances will the Nordic-Estonian co-operation continue for the next 25 years?
  • How will new technology in general and digitalization in particular influence our work?
  • The Nordic countries have been role models in many sectors for decades, but is this advantage permanent?

We will get some answers to these and other questions from internationally acknowledged futurologists from the Nordic countries:

MagnusLindkvist2

Magnus Lindkvist from Sweden is a trendspotting futurologist and one of the top 10 speakers in the world. Since the world changes horizontally and vertically, Magnus will tell us how we can make sense of these changes and use them for good. He will also look into the difference between competition and creation.

ElinaHiltunen

Elina Hiltunen from Finland is a doctor of economics and has a M.Sc. in chemical engineering. She will present three different scenarios for where technology could be in 20 years.

LouiseFredboNielsen

Louise Fredbo-Nielsen is from Denmark and will tell us how we can prepare for the future.
