Estonia's first Biohack is here!

Wooden products are hip, organic leather is desired, bugs are coming, farming moves to the cloud and all our home products are öko! Bio-based solutions that are extremely desired in the world. Estonia has the 3rd highest share of organic fields in Europe and we have a lot of expertise in wood production. Yet, there's so much more to unlock.

May 5-6 in Tartu, SPARK (Narva mnt 3) the 24-hour Biohack will bring together people with bioeconomy business ideas, industry experts, developers and marketers. Over the course of 24 hours, solution oriented teams will be formed to develop thier business ideas.

Best ideas will have a chance to develop their solution further within world's largest green business programme ClimateLaunchpad.

The solutions that are looked for at Biohackathon:

•Bio-based consumer goods (replacing fossil substances with bio) and new food products,
•Various wood applications in the built environment,
•IoT in farming and food production (efficiency, optimization, waste upgrading),
•Biochemicals (new feedstock, food additives etc),
•Circular bioeconomy solutions (new business models, cradle-to-cradle design, industry processes).

Program and event in Facebook.

Registration.

Biohackthon is organised by Cleantech ForEst, in partnership with Nordic Council of Ministers’ office in Estonia.
