Young people aged 18-28 who are able to speak Danish, Swedish or Norwegian in everyday conversation can apply for summer jobs in five Nordic countries via the Nordjobb recruitment programme.

You have to register on the Nordjobb website in order to apply. Jobseekers must be citizens of the European Union, and knowledge of Finnish in addition to a Scandinavian language is an advantage when applying for a job in Finland.

Nordjobb receives ca. 10,000 applications every year, with approximately 800 young people finding summer jobs in the Nordic countries. Nordjobb offers typical summer jobs such as gardening and farm work, general maintenance, accommodation and service-related work, positions of assistance in nursing homes and au pair work. Successful candidates receive the same level of pay for seasonal work as ordinary workers. However, candidates should remember that although the portal will help them find an affordable place to stay as close to their work as possible, they will not pay for it – the candidates have to cover this cost themselves, and usually in advance. Travel costs to the destination are not covered either.

NordjobbIn addition to helping them find work, Nordjobb provides assistance with accommodation where possible and promotes recreational activities they can take part in so as to better get to know the culture and language of the countries they are working in.
