The Nordic Council of Ministers, Office in Estonia is recruiting a Reporting and Outreach Advisor

We are looking for an Advisor within reporting and outreach to our team in Tallinn. Job description

You will be part of the team in Tallinn and be responsible for the Office´s reporting and outreach work. This includes regular reporting on the Office´s work and on developments in the country, and strategic communication based on the same. National and international travel will be expected.

  • Strategic reporting of the work of the Office, including annual reporting, thematic reporting or on-demand political reporting or drafting public speeches for the Director.
  • Strategic planning of communication campaigns, often together with thematic Advisors and other colleagues in the Office.
  • Production of contents for the Office´s channels, for example for the website or social media, writing articles, performing interviews, posting information about events, press releases.
  • Coordination of podcast initiatives, often together with thematic Advisors, or external consultants.
  • Acting as the focal point on communications with the NCM Secretariat in Copenhagen, attending regular meetings with similar colleagues, ensuring visibility alignment.
  • Physical outreach – organizing and attending NCM events in Estonia and reaching out to new target groups across the country, including smaller communities. Regular visits to our Offices in Tartu and Narva and attending relevant events in the Nordic countries.
  • Other tasks upon demand.

Mandatory qualifications

  • University degree equivalent to Bachelor level, in political science, international relations, communications or other relevant field.
  • Progressively responsible and relevant professional experience in diplomacy, political affairs and advising and in the area of public sector programming, strategic planning, communications, monitoring and evaluation, preferably in government agencies, international organizations, or non-governmental organizations.
  • Professional fluence in English and Estonian, both oral and written skills.
  • Experience in preparing analytical reports.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Nordic values, good understanding of the mandate and work of the Nordic Council of Ministers. Knowledge of the regional political history and developments of Estonia.
  • Ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different backgrounds, different gender and political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.
  • Flexibility, structure and ability to work under pressure of deadline.

Desirable qualifications

  • Documented experience in project management.
  • Established networks within government, the civil society, the private sector or academia in Estonia and/or the Nordic countries.
  • Additional language skills, in particular a Scandinavian language or Russian.
  • Relevant international work experience.
  • Design, photography or similar skills.
  • A valid driving license for B level/person car.

About the Nordic Council of Ministers

The Nordic Council of Ministers is the official body for inter-governmental co-operation in the Nordic Region. The Prime Ministers’ vision is that the Nordic region will become the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030. The co-operation in the Nordic Council of Ministers must serve this purpose. The Office in Estonia is working towards developing Nordic-Baltic cooperation through focusing on meaningful cooperation between government agencies, the civil society, the private sector and academia across the Nordics and Estonia. In total approximately ten staff in Estonia, with a small office in Tartu and Narva respectively, in addition to Tallinn as the main section.
