Postimees: Nordic way to clean energy

The Nordic countries have set a landmark in Europe by stating an ambitious goal – they are aiming to become CO2-neutral economies by 2050, writes science journalist Arko Olesk in the Estonian daily Postimees on February 3. Olesk took part in the launch of the 'Nordic Energy Technology Perspectives' report compiled by the International Energy Agency and Nordic Energy Research. The report describes how the Nordic countries can meet their national climate targets and achieve a carbon-neutral energy system by 2050.

"Their main conclusion is that a CO2-neutral economy is an attainable target with reasonable economic costs," writes Olesk. "It's worth noting that if the Nordic countries succeed, they'll become energy exporters."
