Friday, 01 October 2010

Peipsi Center for Transboundary Cooperation, Nordic Council of Ministers and Lappeenranta Innovation Ltd organize an international workshop “Creative industries and community development on the Eastern European periphery”. The workshop is aimed at discussing at how the creative industries (such as arts, crafts, museums, music, publishing, other) could be supported in border areas in the Baltic Sea Region.

Support to the creative industries is important to promote the diversification of economic activities in border areas in Eastern Baltics, the regions that today suffer from lack of employment opportunities and are economically underdeveloped.

Organisation of the workshop is supported by the Council of Baltic Sea States and Nordic Council of Ministers. Speakers at the workshop include representatives of the Nordic Innovation Center, Copenhagen Business School, Estonian Ministry of Culture and other.
